How accurate is it?
Our AI uses a highly constrained Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture. It is strictly forbidden from "hallucinating" or guessing answers. Every response is generated directly from the indexed text of the Indian Standard codes, and the AI provides explicit clause citations so you can independently verify the data.
Can AI be wrong?
Yes. While we constrain the AI to our verified code database to prevent hallucination, AI can still occasionally misinterpret complex contexts or miss nuances in highly specific structural scenarios. This is why every response must be verified.
Which codes are currently supported?
We currently support major civil and structural engineering codes (IS 456, IS 800, IS 875, IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 383, IS 516, IS 2062). We are actively expanding to include NBC (National Building Code), Fire & Safety (NFPA + NBC), Electrical (IS + IEC), Roads (IRC), Mechanical (ASME/API), and Quality & ISO Standards.
Can I use this professionally?
Yes. IS Code.ai is an advanced search and reference tool designed to augment an engineer's workflow. It does not provide engineering judgment, and its outputs must always be reviewed and signed off by a qualified, licensed professional.
Do you provide latest revisions?
Our database is routinely audited against the latest amendments published by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). When an amendment is released, our engineers update the index and flag the respective clauses to ensure the AI retrieves the most current provisions.
How are citations generated?
When you ask a question, our system retrieves the most relevant exact clauses from the codes. The AI then synthesizes the answer using ONLY those retrieved clauses, and appends explicit references (e.g., [IS 456, Clause 26.2]) linking back to the source text.
How does the credit system work?
Free tier users receive a fixed number of query credits per day. Once exhausted, you can optionally watch a short sponsored video to instantly earn more credits, or upgrade to a Pro plan for expanded monthly quotas and priority support.
